About Us

Brief History

Ayeneh Foundation began its journey in the year 2000 with a mission to provide educational services regarding the international disease of addiction with a one hour radio program. In 2003 Ayeneh expanded its outreach by working with experts, psychologists and activists in the field of other social maladies and harms such as domestic violence, AIDS, human rights violations, the plight of refugees and the children of labor and environmental justice by producing weekly educational television and radio programs.

Over a period of 17 years, after producing more than 6,000 hours of informative media outreach programs, and holding 28 free educational seminars and gatherings of the friends of recovery, setting up multiple resourceful websites, over 10,000 trees planted worldwide, and donations of over 4000 books and school supplies to the children of labor and many other humanitarian projects, Ayeneh Foundation continued to empower communities in need around the world with knowledge.

Our Goals

Relieving Human Suffering

We believe that the root of suffering in many circumstances lies in a lack of knowledge. Whether we are talking about physical, psychical or spiritual suffering, the first step is to understand the nature and the characteristics of the harm before we can eliminate the culprit. Suffering can also be looked at as a motivating factor for us to change our behavior, when possible, in ways that enhance our chances of survival and well-being.

Civic Engagement

Civic participation encompasses a wide range of activities, such as volunteering, participating in group activities, and community gardening. Neighborhoods with higher levels of civic participation have a greater sense of community, lower levels of crime, lower rates of disease, mental illness, and suicide and citizens who are healthier and happier.

Help Globally

Ayeneh inspires people to create a happier, healthier, you and a happier world by developing a giving mentality and practice, one give, one day at a time. We encourage everyone to put giving first and Inspire others to start giving every day and change our happiness culture. Nonprofit Organizations like Ayeneh that are part of global communities aim to raise awareness of global issues and help make a positive impact on a global level.

Quality Education

Education is about more than literacy, it is also about citizenry. Education can fully assume its central role in helping people to forge more just, peaceful and compassionate societies. Education creates knowledge, builds confidence, and breaks down barriers to opportunity. For the young and old, it is the key to open the door to a better life.

Good Health

The longstanding definition of health from the World Health Organization (WHO) formulated in 1948 is “ a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity.” Health is about what makes us feel good physically, mentally, socially, and spiritually. It is about how we react to the strains and stresses of life and are not only resilient to them but have the potential to bounce back even stronger. We believe that awareness, education and prevention are the pillars of good health.

Plant Trees

We started our tree-planting campaign with two goals in mind, to celebrate and commemorate recovery and mending the wounds of mother earth. Trees reduce the ‘Greenhouse’ effect by removing carbon dioxide from the air and releasing oxygen. Each year a mature tree produces enough oxygen for ten people. Trees play an especially important role in enhancing our quality of life. To better the world globally, we need to act locally. Trees are essential for healthy communities and people.

Meet Our Founder

Dariush Eghbali – Founder and President

The success and purpose of an organization is rooted in the philosophy, values, vision and aspirations of its founder. Dariush Eghbali, artist, social activist and humanitarian, founded Ayeneh Foundation, an independent, nonpolitical, nonreligious educational nonprofit organization, upon entering the world of recovery in 2000. Ayeneh Foundation aims to increase education, awareness and prevention concerning social harms and maladies.

From its inception, Ayeneh has sought to unite communities, the media industry and international nonprofit organizations in healing the painful wounds of our society, in nurturing our lost humanity, and seeking a healthy world for all: A Triangle of Health & Unity.

Making the culture of education an inherent core in our society is not just a goal; it is a love-fueled journey that has embodied thousands of educational radio and television programs, informative conferences and seminars worldwide, eye-opening school presentations, annual gatherings of the friends of recovery, educational publications, educational websites and chat rooms, a tree planting campaign and a campaign in support of impoverished children and refugees among others. This compassionate and productive journey resulted in the Ayeneh Foundation being gifted a 24-hour satellite media in 2017, dedicated to emboldening and expanding our ability to empower communities worldwide with knowledge in different languages.

After five years of producing thousands of hours of innovative educational radio and television programs, in 2022, Ayeneh was gifted a second 24-hour satellite media: Hambastegi Tv (Unity), dedicated to the vital goal of increasing awareness about the principles of human rights and solidarity.
